Estate Preparation

The work that makes estate planning actually work.

A good will assumes someone will find it, understand it and act on it. Estate Preparation is the organising layer that makes sure they can \u2014 and that the family already knows what to expect.

Overview

Estate planning fails when families are not prepared.

You have a will. You may even have a trust, powers of attorney and an advance care directive. But if your family cannot find your assets, cannot access your accounts, has not had the conversation, and has never met your executor — the documents alone will not protect them.

We do not replace your estate lawyer. We do the work that makes their work effective.

Where We Help

Practical, considered support.

Asset Register

Every asset documented, verified and indexed for executors.

Executor Briefing

A clear, practical handover document for the person who will act.

Care & Wishes

Advance care directives, funeral wishes and the small things that matter.

Digital Legacy

Online accounts, devices, passwords and crypto holdings handled properly.

Family Coordination

Conversations and briefings so beneficiaries are not blindsided.

Adviser Liaison

Your lawyer, accountant and our team — coordinated, not duplicated.

The estate preparation checklist

A current and complete asset register. Verified valuations on significant items. A list of advisers, accounts and online assets. Documented wishes for collections, vehicles and personal effects. A digital legacy plan and password vault. Pre-arranged conversations with your executor. A briefing for your spouse and adult children. Care directives, organ donation and funeral wishes recorded clearly.

Working with your existing lawyer

If you have an estate lawyer, we coordinate with them and provide the structured information they need. If you do not, we make trusted introductions. Either way, the legal documents are theirs to draft — and ours to make sure the family can actually use.

Business owners and complex estates

For estates with operating businesses, multiple properties, classic vehicles, art or international assets, we coordinate a multi-discipline approach — bringing the right specialists in at the right time.

Common Questions

Answers to the questions families ask first.

Do you draft wills or provide legal advice?

No. We are not a law firm. We coordinate with your estate lawyer and prepare the organisational layer that legal documents depend on.

I already have a will. Why do I need this?

A will tells your executor who gets what. It does not tell them where to find it, what it is worth, who holds the key, or how to access the digital accounts. That is the gap we close.

How do you protect privacy?

All documents are stored in your encrypted Legacy Vault. Access is granted only to people you nominate, at the times you specify.
